That's it well, that's all I've been in! Hi, good evening to everyone. We'd like to call it an order tonight's reading for the March Sw Masks. 2025 regular award of ed blessings. First thing, as we will do the pledge of allegiance, and this is the opportunity to summarize the in the United States of America and to the public for which it stands, one nation under God and his whole ability and justice for all. We have a lot of small guests, right? So we'll start off with public comment and then just remember to keep it, you know, less than three minutes and something that is on the agenda for tonight. So why?
0:57
Hi, I just wanted to say congratulations to everybody in invention convention and it was a great thing to say. So thank you for the teachers and the students that participated. Yeah. And then we'll go around the room. If you guys don't have anything to say for public comment and you want to wait for celebration. That's what I think too. Put down your names for a minute. Hi, I've had Smith and I've just handed off the Shannon a three point item. I'm looking to about three weeks with principal and superintendent about bringing a little ram in here. I know what this up. So doing science pole for middle schools. I'm also involved with the high school event. And looking to. I hope start off the the ram middle school team a couple years ago, a little bit of the law. It's a big analysis. And I'm looking to do a little trial. A little here. Introduce to elementary because I live in town. It'll be easy for you to get here. And bring buzzers in it's Jeffrey style competition. It's probably the nation's elite competition. Science pole and the nation. Soviet teams are flown from 70 regional. The title goes to two nationals. I'm the partner to run. And. We run it out of you college for the high school. And when you've done rock hosting the middle school and clients.
2:24
Some other teachers picked it up. We've been letting it a Smith middle for the last three years. Very successful. But I want to run it in a middle elementary school and see if the students that lead we're. That go to ram middle school. I how they perform. at the middle school level, kind of curious to see if there's a big change in that. So this is kind of a, you know, we have the other elementaries that feed into ramp that aren't going to be practicing. So we're going to see how that impacts that. Secondly, I'm the president of the Connective, the Panther Society. So I'm looking to, we're kind of become a semesters organization. There used to be, I just teenage, I was involved with another teenage, they're back decades ago. But now we don't have that much representation in the youth. So, and our newsletter needs to be built. We're looking through it and we're creating a program where we touch faces with elementary and middle and high schools.
3:21
And we have a high structure for students and teachers and getting engaged in some botanical area of research. Their teacher would read the works and submit the exemplars to our organization. And winning the winning of representations would be getting either monetary awards, that doesn't work. But by primary or elementary, maybe with a class gets involved and we have a big feed supporting award. Or the class that does a good set of research with pictures that gets published in our newsletter. I would also like to have a teacher set up a field trip with parents and students on a Saturday. And then the Panther Society members would show up. We would leave the school in a complete inventory of all the species of plants. A lot of citizen science ideas that many of us have been involved with before as teacher or university instructors. We could leave that with the school trying to get more science connected into the curriculum. There are standards that have the NGSS standards that would tie in bonding with K to five. It's like receipts and things like that. A lot of schools don't have any teacher that knows what the plants are that are out there.
4:35
So, you know, I could come here any time and walk a class around teacher. Show that you try to receipts. Teachers, night state, bird octaves would create a bell for all. There is a bigger sticks that have you ever got the two pront things stuck in your pants and you're walking off. So, there's a lot of those things here that I have some micro skills I can bring. And students could do a really full project that maybe some drawings that would be really cool to get into the newsletter. And maybe get their connected furniture up also just joined up with code. The coalition of diversity of equity and Shannon. You'll you'll see. I already have one and I'll get it back and read it down.
5:16
And I want to Shannon not because I work with Shannon before. So, point three, there's a picture there. I'm going to go no further than have you. Present that sort of word if you would not today. No, but I have a student that when I took over a camp down in North Carolina this summer. He came with me he's done all my bioblances he's done all my bioblances he's done all my bioblances he can't. And my point about diversity equity. I like the effect of they reach out with books and things like that. But I want to bring more and. And I want to get more and connected with. With rural suburban schools. And I think that's going to go a long way towards helping kids. They better with race differences and things like that. That's called it. I know. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Can you just say your name for. I sure don't or you've got to. Okay. Judge. Judge later. Thanks. bereset. Honey. But. On. Okay. Jessica. I'm just got back from mama. Your Majesty. You got to know me. You're looking. I don't think we messed that in one for public sake. No. Okay. Okay. So next time is communications. Does anyone have anything communication? Why is it not otherwise on the agenda? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. And then students. Celebration. Sure. So we're excited to welcome some of our inventors tonight. So if you're not familiar with invention convention, if you weren't with us last year,
7:34
I may have forgotten. This is a process that all of our fourth graders per take in. But in addition, like you'll see Harry here, our youngest inventor in Preke, is open to students in all grades. So kids start this work all the way back in September, October. And they start grappling with what are problems that you have in your life and how can you solve them? And essentially starting to understand how sometimes we associate inventors as this far off thing that you can't do or that is just this old man scientists for lack of a better word. And so we bring that process to them and think, wait a minute, you have a problem how can you solve it. Katie Dixon here's our fourth grade teacher and she man's this project with all the fourth graders and puts in lots and lots of hours both in school and out of school to help these kiddos develop their ideas, create posters, boards that you'll see. And then the students and then Mrs. Frazier here supports Mrs. Dixon and then also works with some of our kiddos who are not in fourth grade to make sure that they're getting a support they need. And then they have to present their inventant inventions to a panel of judges. So thank you to Jerry on the board of ed who was a judge for us and in addition we had four judges. So we had Jerry and came in judge. We had test grouse over from the community center next door Robert laser who was a mechanical engineer in town. And Erica Latuska here one of our parents also working in the study field. So that was exciting.
9:02
They have to present they have to speak to their invention be able to answer questions and then we get to send. To finalists to the state level at the you can so that's in the beginning of May may third I want to say a row down. May third yeah. At Gapel at UConn where they will go and present their projects. So our two finalists. You will know you met one of them just now is buddy stack over here. And then Winston Greenhouse is our other finalist. So we were very excited. In addition we had seven honorable mentions for various awards such as best presentation orally visually strong board creative thinking our youngest inventor. Lots of other awards and so some of them are here. So I'm just going to have Katie introduce here Mrs. Dickson and Mrs. Frazier are three inventors that are here tonight and they can at least tell you just to blip about what they invented.
9:55
We have Perry his invention is this one here. Perry do you want to more right show them how it works. So you don't work. So you had a dribbling force. What was your problem? What was your problem? What was your problem? It was a great question, right? Here it presents an artist precake class and all of the other friends we have. We have another one home. So he did a fantastic job our youngest inventor that we've had yet and was able to present to his class and the judges were able to see his awesome dribbling course. So congratulations to Harry. Did you have fun here when you made that? Yeah, do you think you'll do some more inventions? Do you want to make a good one? Oh my goodness that's pretty awesome. So I have a feeling you guys will be seeing Harry many years to come as an inventor. So very exciting thank you here I can chat here. So we'll write down the lines so everyone will test that with Harry yoga.
12:01
I'll let her explain a little bit. We're waiting to use this adventure. That's cool, that's cool. Absolutely. Everyone in award for visually pleasing board is that correct? She has as you can see her presentation is very, very strong. So thank you so much, everyone. We have fun with that. Change out real quick. Why invented is the TMS? Also knows the male X-ray. My invention is for people who don't want to take multiple trips to the male boxes. I don't know what I mean is to go. The male slides in onto the pressure plate. The solar panel here. So just the energy to go through the wire or spin to the lights, but you can see it from your home. So for invention, they can have any working photos like that. I don't know if we've got that type. So the working one are not working. Not working, but he's able to explain what it would do. It's a perfect photo type, right? And he gets the writers on us in May. Thank you, Connor.
14:03
So we are very excited. I'm proud of all our inventors and are looking forward to continue to grow our program through the year. So we want to win. The wind is actually here. Yes. The rest. I can't speak for them because I don't. I can't speak for them. I can't. I can't speak for them because they can't speak at hockey practice right now. I'm not there. They have a big turn at this weekend. But when we go skiing, he always will try to lean forward and try to get his skis to hit the ski rest. And he said, you know, we always tell him to sit back. He's not saying to lean forward. And I said, why would there was a rest that was for me? So he wanted to invent a ski rest for kids that's like the normal adult ski rest is.
14:50
I don't know whatever the link is, but he wanted to make one of the tires. So it's like a portable attachment that you could add on to an existing ski lift to make a shorter skier bus. I think that's a good idea. Thank you so much to our inventors. Well, we are so happy to have you at our board of Edweden. We completely understand, you wish to go through. But thank you again to our staff and to the Board of Edweden for supporting all of these extra curricular. And just one quick note, just from a parent perspective, I found it to be extremely easy and very not painful. Just because they did so much of it at school. So thank you for that. I mean, I was kept asking Sophia, when do we have to get the board? Why are we making this? Like, you know, now we're doing it at school. So from a parent point of view, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thanks. I know we recognized last month. I'll just add some of the sheets here. We talked about how everyone are school spelling me. And she was headed to the state and she did represent us very well at the state spelling be the last weekend, this past weekend. And while the words of the state spelling
16:03
be are those finalists or the ones you see on TV. So those are some strong spellers. So while she did it in place and are spelling be we are very proud of her words. So I had to point in, and she did, and she didn't. She had to point in, and she didn't. Even being there is quite an accomplishment. So we were in the heart of her. She was probably there too. Yeah, I wouldn't. Oh, yeah. And those words, I, I haven't even, don't even have some. How's your favorite? Farkleberry. And I was like, I'm not kidding. I'm not kidding. And then I looked it up because I was obsessed with it. And it's also can be called Sparkleberry. So I sent Melissa, I thought it was a good idea. So yeah. But it was a great time to go. So good job. I'm really good job. Yeah. Thank you again. Well, we're visiting her tonight. Thanks, guys. Thank you. Don't fall for her to get rid of her groups. Oh, yeah, I'm okay. Okay, I'm okay. Thank you. I'll talk to you later. I'll talk to you later. I'll talk to you later. Yeah, I'll talk to you later. I'll talk to you later. I'll talk to you later. Thank you. That's one of our best share. Oh, my God. Our new kiddos will be here.
17:16
Are you going to learn next year? Thank you. Talk to you later. Thank you. Thank you. That's a shout out. Thank you. Better mind. Well, I like to answer this. This fact that she had throughout Eric, but that's where we were really. Yeah. It's considered unbelievable, awesome job. And then pretty big changes. Bye, guys. Thank you. My friends were beyond belief. They were ability to speak about what they created and why. Just incredible. I was so overwhelmed by the job. Each of these students put it to the effort, the energy and the thought process. It was incredible. And if you'd have ever had a chance to go, I really recommend that you're on the board of the industry, our take of the fund of that. All of the adventures that you can come up with. Well, I'm a little hairy. He may not have spoken a lot tonight, but when he presented it to his classmates, it was adorable because the three and four year olds went up to his project and they went. Harry, you're such a great inventor. It's one child that I don't around the room, does the wrong thing. Couldn't be more tuned to his project and was so gentle with it. And it was really great to watch them at that age. Recognize that he had done this. It was great. And when the students came in from the school, I went through the gym. They were so respectful. They were so high. And they positive words they were speaking to their classmates.
18:56
It was really great. And the humble men bag. Yeah, that was great. No, those weren't great. There's a last minute I saw that was in high school. They went to their play, their production and they had little bads with all the actors pictures on them. And so I was like, did you that with our inventors? And so it was kids were able to write little notes of compliments. And especially the kiddos who weren't in fourth grade, who had their peers came in, it was like, you know, they're even more of a celebrity because they might be the only second grader or the only third grader who participated. So it was really. It was when Cinderella has home and like sorted them by like, yeah, isn't my classmate. This is a teacher. Right. Yeah, and what other grades the other kids were in, so yeah. And I think we went through them. Of course, as a teacher, like got to make sure everyone got one. And we didn't, that what there was no need to write any. That like they, every kiddo was appreciated by many. So it was really cool. It was great. Thanks, Taylor. Yeah, absolutely. Great job. Good. Good event. Very nice. Okay. Next up, we have a approval of minutes from our last meeting. If anyone have fractions or anything that they notice, you need to change.
20:01
No, I just wanted to say how incredibly thoroughly we were. I thought they were very successful. Thanks, Donna, for a lot of late night reading. Would anyone like to make a motion to approve the minutes? I'll make a motion to approve the minutes from the regular board of Ed meeting, February 12th, on the 25th. So I think that's all. All in favor. Bye. Hi. Thanks, Donna. That is the gross zero. Would anyone like to add or do we have on for today? If possible, I would like to add a motion to allow the principal and superintendent to schedule summer cool camp. They did reach out. I did receive an email that I'm happy to read requesting the use of the building in the summer. So we would like to schedule. Okay, that. Do you want to put that under nine? Like, essentially a board discussion and action? Yes. So we'll just move that above the elevator contract. That's okay. Yeah, they want to start a registration. So it'd be great if you said cool summer. Yeah, yeah, thank you. Does anyone have any other celebration? But we missed earlier. It is board appreciation month. Well, ready, it's March.
21:31
So you all have something small in front of me just to say thank you. Every provincial guys do during the course of year. And actually, just once you didn't know, I ran into one of our former board members, Dan Ford and he actually said to me just two days ago, he said, make sure, you know, you say, hi to the board. He said, and I had been speaking with the board in the town that I now live in, he said, in the middle of a conversation, they said, how do you know all of these things? And he said, because when he was on the board, one of the things you guys did was to attend conference and have received your retreats and that that really had just started under him and he was grateful for that. So he said, you know, it's board appreciation month.
22:16
Make sure I pass that along. I'm passing along from our school year, but you are recognized not only from the school, but from the outside, so the things that you do. So thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Please. Thank you. Um, in terms of an oral report, um, and don't have a ton, um, we've had some, you know, communication regarding, uh, just notification of different town meetings that are upcoming. Um, so thank you for everyone who has attended those. Um, we did Valerie presented a budget to the board of finance. Um, that went very well. Um, we did have a Board of Slockman special meeting to set the date for town meeting, um, which is tomorrow night, um, to go over solar and present that to the town at
22:59
large. Um, they did a set of mail or out that hopefully everyone in a few days in the gym right to the gym. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Um, and it is two separate meetings. So the solar meeting is first, um, and then the second meeting is about a bunch of ordinances and, um, um, I said, from that, I don't have anything else major that that isn't already on the agenda somewhere else. Um, know that the whole idea of the stuff account is still in discussion, and we didn't forget about it. If we're going to try to wait until the end of budget season to try to, like, actually make that happen. Good. So I have, um, well, uh, yep, so, um, let's see on those about this. Um, okay, so grant updates, um, we, but I'm going to do one, sorry, um, she ends. One of the things that we are grappling with not only as, um, um, um, not only as superintendents, but districts and also districts in the Northeast corner here, um, these kind of districts, uh, obviously right now is the unknown, um, with the potential talk about things that could change of the state and national level. Uh, there really isn't any money coming out right now. I assure you that the money that, um, you know, and already started to come out in a lot of minutes are school readiness funding that's still solid, um, and any of the other money that started to come in for this fiscal year, you know, has come in. Uh, I want to be assured of that and, um, you know, we could still draw it down from the
24:43
money that's already been allotted in our e-grants. So I know those are some questions that the community has had as a, as a whole as to what's going to happen with that. Uh, it's the new money that is kind of paused, um, you know, we talked about, uh, doing that HVAC inspection so that we can get the money from the DAS that was paused, so they're not taking applications for that right now, uh, which is why even though we've already improved doing the project, we haven't actually moved forward, but yeah, because when we see what happens with that, um, so in terms of, you know, potential, um, grants, it's going to be even more important as we go into the budget, uh, that people are aware that the extra things that have caused us, um, luxury things for the building, or extra funding for the kids, who are, um, you know, just simply some of the things that we don't get from the general fund, they are not going to be there, um, they just aren't going to be there. Uh, I hope that we have an office for the program application come out by now, or the summer program. I know who is equally as disappointed, besides for four summers now. We've had a partnership with them where we were able to share some money, um, that just wasn't there for this summer. So I know that they really did grapple, Taylor, just received them. I noticed to say, yes, we're going to have a program here, is what it's hopefully going to look like, because they didn't know what they would do either. They didn't rely on a partnership with us for four
26:08
years. So, so that's why it's going to be even more important, moving forward with the budget that you guys have already adopted, um, that we have people understand that, um, there is no other little funds for us to, um, hopefully give into, um, it's just not going to happen. With that said, the other things that we've been doing with the grants right now, um, as I know very, um, uh, serve on our participle readiness, um, council, and even so we know that, um, that's the only area in this year that we did receive a small amount of extra funding. And it came to good time because, as you know, with four preschools now, um, we don't have the allotted amount of space outside for the kids, um, that's fenced in. And so that, um, grant itself allowed us to make a second section that should start the other March, beginning of April, where they're going to come and they're, they're already hired to do that. So, um, they did the other section. So, we'll, we'll see that was framed for the kids. That would be as a result of those additional dollars. Um, they are, and they expansion of the, um, sensory room, uh, because we're taking over the other ones. So, so those are both positive things and we're grateful for those. Um, in terms of facility updates, uh, most of the things that have occurred in the last month are simply our regular repair maintenance. Um, they did finish that door to music room that we talked about within the last two meetings. Um, we still are waiting for the lights outside of the parking lot to be gone. Let's see more. Um, but, um, that wasn't their fault.
27:40
Uh, and that was timing, uh, as to when they could come with the weather. And I mean, so, uh, when they come, they will also be, uh, transferring over the lighting and to a light with the dimmer. And the old boys gym locker room, which unfortunately we've had to immunize now for space that we need. And so that would be that sensory room for the early childhood program down here, instead of the one across the street, across the whole rather from the cafeteria. That one needs to be utilized next year as a room, um, as weeks back. So the, it'll go down there. Um, so to do so, the lights that are down and needs a minor adjustments, um, the minor adjustments down there to that room will be a lot of 1100 and paid with the rest of that, um, new increase that we got this year for school readiness. Uh, here are a couple of lights at the top of the stairs, like right outside the office, if you kind of take a left in the hallway there, the ones that are
28:37
higher up, um, those bowls need to be changed as well. And, um, as Scott's mentioned, um, they're very high up. We can't do them on our own. So we usually have to have a contractor come in to, uh, adjust those lights and 425 dollars of space that we switch to the lights that look like this. So that they are the LED bowls, but they're underneath this. And that's, you know, um, much better off. So they are, so that's being done as well. We did our regular FPT, uh, sprinkler inspection, we did our regular USA, um, mechanical maintenance on the boilers and water heaters, um, and, um, our regular inspection, uh, the past inspection was done as well, and the clear water surface for the real water. So all of those, um, regular impairments, um, and those are the companies that are working with us. Do a long-term plan on that. As you know, we have three things on our agenda right now currently. I know Celeste, that was the last meeting that we had and we talked about our three priorities. Um, and so if we're working on those three, uh, two of them are down from there on your, uh, called action there, but then, um, on your agenda, but then the, uh, next thing would be for us to do that long-term, uh, look at the boilers and see where we are with that. Okay. So that's, I get all serious for that. Um, did I miss anything any questions? So what happened with the lights? It was a timing issue. It was seeing work. So, um, it was bad weather the day that we're supposed to come. Oh, okay. And then getting back on the other things. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Okay. Getting back on the schedule. Okay. I just got it a little bit. Yes.
30:22
So we are out there schedule. Okay. Um, and those are the parking lot lights. Um, and, you know, they, they, they, that was already done. Okay. Okay. So that was a project that we had to do as to stay right out. So no, I'm sorry. I'll do it any idea. So one part of the budget has been $40 million dollars to what I understand, the special education, um, in the safe budget, any idea. I want to bet on a vote. Okay. And I, and I, I kind of, I don't know. I'm a little, uh, uh, a little questionable about the way the newspapers keep reporting that like everybody's
30:57
getting a one piece of that 40 million. That's why I know. So, so the two big driving factors financially when you look at like state money here, it's ECS dollars, which is educational cost sharing and then excess cost. So ECS dollars are the states share to the municipality to help you to pay for education and general. Um, so it's not like your mark for something. It's not like they say this is, you know, a dollar for every kid you have. There's a formula. And the formula gives handle for, um, you know, look up a money dot to the tool that it's nine million, which is us and, um, RAM. And I know that here in town, the choice is that it gets just put it to the
31:42
coffers because every month they send us our money and they send RAM their money. And so it sits in there and as long as that money is used for educational costs, it's irrelevant how they break it up. So okay, just put it in there and they say, we're going to use that money till this one and then use the rest of our home money. That's the way it works there. Um, that is nothing to do in special ed. That's just money that's given to towns to offset the cost of education. Access, um, cost, as to do in special ed. And excess cost is another formula. And it is where a town has to spend 4.5 times the cost of whatever it is they spend per student, whether it's 14,000 or 30,000, if you have to spend 4.5 times that cost and then per student. And then anything over and above that, you can say we're going to apply for our rebate to the state for that excess cost that you somehow, um, incurred. The problem with that is, um, then there's another formula. You don't get it all. So for us, let's say we spend $100,000 on a student and 90,000 is our 4.5 times. We can say that other $10,000 we would like to apply for rebate on. That formula, depending on the district, can be anywhere between 50% and 70%. So the formula is wavered over the past few years and some
33:07
districts have kind of gotten cells in a pickle because if they've always gotten 68%, they budget for 68% of those students. And then when that number changes, they have to figure out what to do. And as you know, with costs for special education students, they love the time they go down. So you can have three students this year, um, hypothetically speaking, worn it out, placement facility and they were $100,000 a piece and then one of them dropped their costs for first speech, let's say, and then they dropped down a little bit. And now you don't meet that $10,000 threshold for the excess cost, maybe they were $90,000. Do you know what I mean? So it's so hard and it's so unfair. It's unfair because our budget year is a little over $4 million. So if we have a child that costs us $110,000 or $120,000, that's a huge chunk of our budget for that long child. Whereas if there's kind of where the budget is 29 million or 80 million, that's a drop for them. And so, um, a lot of the districts in our northeastern corner here, both numbers are employees to us, of course, but that excess cost is more important to them. If, in fact, they have a large number of high, high means, special education students. For us here in and over, um, we meet the needs of the majority of our kids here and sure there are, you know, a lot of expenses, but do we meet the over $100,000 mark for those individual kids? Remember, you can't add it together, not usually. So we usually do not use the benefits of excess cost here at all. In my five years here,
34:55
we have not received any excess cost for our students. We've missed the mark on the majority of students. So for us here in Indiana over, again, my other town's different and every other town's different. For us, I'm kind of hoping that that, um, I mean, that that, um, yeah, ECS dollars, that that itself is where we will read the benefit. Now, let me quickly explain with the, um, the ECS dollars. There is a formula that's put together by an agency that's not the Department of then State Work Veteran is, um, like, a nonprofit. And they punch in demographic numbers and they punch in, it's a formula, um, where they have determined within the past three years that
35:41
a fair number of towns are what they call overfunded, which I can't even say that without getting upset about it overfunded. We're not overfunded, but they do believe that those smaller districts are, um, receiving too much assistance. And, um, because we don't have the numbers, we're small districts. And so if you look at a list in order of the top 25 districts in the state of Connecticut, or centuries-wise, or what they think we are overfunded, almost all of the art use time districts here in the Northeast, and we are in the top 20, which means that, um, between now and 20, 32, they're anticipating on that $2 million that, you know, we get that we would have a loss of, um, over 300,000 over the course of the time between now and then with year one being 32,000. Now, I say year one because for the past couple of years, they've been speaking about it, and they've done what they call the whole, whole harmless. They've said, okay, we still believe you're overfunded, and we still anticipate we're going to take the money away from you, but we hope to meet this year. And they've held us harmless for the last couple of years, but we hold our breath every year to see if that's the case. Um, now, does it affect us here at the school? Yes, but does it affect our budget in the sense that if our budget passed tomorrow, when we lose the money the next day? No, because remember, that money does go to the 10. And so that's a revenue source
37:13
for them. So we'll infect us in the long run. Yes, it will. But we won't get a notice because says, you're not getting your money. The town would get the notice that would say, you're not getting this money. Um, so all the same team there. So absolutely, it does affect us all, but it's not a grant that comes through directly to us to revenue source with the town. So, um, the sad thing is what will happen in most of those Eastcom towns that is for them to keep the current services that they have for their schools, if they're as affected by ECS dollars as we are, is the town side's going to just have to decide where are we cutting or do we go into our rainy day funds to cover the difference on that because they will see a loss. So it's got to affect us. So that's where she had in the 40 million that's in the newspaper. Everybody keeps thinking that somehow that 40 million is going to make its way to every single town. It's not going to make its way to every single town. And so we end up being one of those around. That's right, the better base of that 40 million for the wind is right now because we have no access cost. So the best thing you can be hoping for is that ECS dollars would be help harmless. So that that's the best case scenario for us. Long-winded, but that's ECS and the access cost. Do those liking?
38:35
Do you have anything else? No, until you know. Okay. Does anyone have other questions for Bob? I don't have any. Okay, my turn. Sure. So a few updates. I just wanted to start by highlighting right now. We are doing a March reading challenge. And so it is the Read Across America Month Traditionally in School where we celebrate reading. And we kind of kicked off the first week with the Spirit Week and we really focused on reading. We partnered with a company that does educational consulting, but a lot of these large companies have budget lines in which they need to give back to schools, which we love. And so they have partnered with us too. If you are a parent here, you might have heard to offer Red Sox tickets for the reading challenge. And I just wanted to highlight it because we have been so impressed that the week wanted to be found with just the high participation level we've had from kids and the awesome number of minutes that they are recorded reading. And even there's a couple where we kind of reached out to parents and said, like are you feeding them? Like how would it happen? And the parents like I swear to God, I'm like just telling them they have to put the book down. So it has been very exciting. We've gotten a lot of momentum. And so that's going really well. And then we, as you know, are working with bookworms for our reading program. And we did have to cancel our March visit because of that four-weather day. And so because they fly from Delaware, you kind of have to make those judgment calls. So they are coming in April. So we still will have them. But teachers are really
40:21
looking forward to because if you've ever, I know, might work in the school, but when you're working on a new curriculum, you kind of, you don't know what you need. And then suddenly you do in March. So that's actually turning out to be good timing as we really can now problem solve any little areas of pain that we've kind of noticed or problem solved. So that's we're looking forward to that. We have an upcoming PD day on the 21st. And we will spend kind of a variety of different things. We are continuing to work on using the zones of regulation, which is our kind of main SCL social, emotional, learning curriculum language that we use with kids. And so our school sky school psychologist and our school counselor will work with us on Friday to continue to kind of broaden our language around that. And more strategies to teach those in our tier one classrooms. And then partnering with that, we've started a book club of challenging behavior. So most of our staff is, again, it's amazing here. I offer an optional book club. And I think 92% of the staff have joined. I mean, it's just we have teachers and paras that are just always willing to learn. And so I had ordered a few books. I'm like, Terry, we need more because we just
41:30
got such high interest. So we are diving into that and just the premise kind of around relational problem solving, which is really what we believe in here at end over. And I know the board supports in terms of challenging behaviors and really working with kids to develop the skills. They need the lagging skills. They need to have positive social and emotional interactions here at school. And then exciting in the math world to see the phraseer that you all know is going to kind of start to leave been doing a lot of dabbling in the AI world for teachers. And so bringing some
42:05
more tools to teachers on that day for supporting in math. So how we can use AI to generate more targeted questions, more targeted practice, and things around areas that kids speak. Kind of making teachers lives easier. We know it's out there, but it's one, it's a new learning that sometimes teachers don't have the time and energy to attack. So Christina has been doing kind of a lot of research around that area. We're excited to bring more of those tools to our teachers. So that's the March 21 plan. And the last thing I was going to share, but I can, I don't know if you want me to share it. Just a school readiness update, you want me to share it right now.
42:46
Bree wasn't able to come this week, but just kind of something to think about for the board. So you're aware. I think it's a good thing. Currently with a school readiness council, as you know that Bree's a part of and that supports our school readiness grant and our really childhood program. As OEC continues to more fun change and evolve, we're going to be moving from a school readiness council to a local governance partnership. And yes, I have to keep writing it down. Should I get my acronyms correct? And really, the big difference is what you'll here is that we are going to go back to, we really need to partner with our surrounding communities. So not just other districts, which, you know, we've partnered with Hebrew in the past, but it can also be child care centers, home daycares, anybody who can access those funds. And it won't just be Hebrew. And they really want to create a little bit of a broader region so that we can send board families with events, with education, and then also be supporting staff at all of these various locations with more professional development and things like that. So it's a bigger job than our current school readiness council, which makes sense, why they want it to be a larger group of people. As we know in real life, getting that larger group of people can be complicated. So we'll be the state is offering again more incentives to kind of partner with them
44:06
and to work with East Khan to start to build that transition. So I just wanted to keep you guys aware of that. It's kind of exciting area. It's, they don't like to tell us too much at once, Katelyn. So it's a mystery. It's at your discretion, but the state has only allowed it a certain amount of local governance partnerships that can exist. So, you know, it's almost like sure we could go away and say we're just going to stay and over, but the odds are unlikely they to prove that because we're so small. So we need to kind of, we're going to be strategic. We have to do a lot of
44:36
investigating to see even what neighboring towns and programs have supporting the funds. And so that's already a question, programs have asked like, are you going to publish a list for us? So that we know our neighbor who would have called, which daycare, I mean you called call daycare. So that's all kind of in the works, but it's new. It's starting and on that same realm, we'll continue to be Niagara accredited. We've moved to the accreditation plus level. We are fancy now, so it could be very proud of that work, which is the tier three, because we already have our accreditation. And we don't need to renew for another five years, but what that means being in the plus levels, a higher level of accountability, which is great. It just means we're open to more surprise visits and we'll continue to adjust for our year of the reports, but our team, as you know, is always open and ready for surprise visits. So that just not, we're not afraid of that, but we'll see, I guess, if that would have happened in the next five years, you'd certainly hear about it. So that's kind of the other Niagara update, which often you have to be Niagara accredited for school readiness, so that kind of goes together. I have another question that's probably more on school readiness. Sure, maybe because I had to community members reach out and ask when kids are registering for preschool or kindergarten, are they getting information about school, as well, as part of that registration packet? Yeah, typically, cool.
46:03
I mean, I don't want to miss speaks, so do I know that the next school year has already been published and is in that packet? I'm not sure. Yes. Typically, it's in our packet, or even just that it exists, because a couple people have asked questions recently that made it seem like they didn't know. No, typically, in that packet, it is, like, how do you, um, as you can, you knew when we knew we were going to happen a while of the early registration that we are actually at 60 already. Our next year, and it's March whatever it is. So we are already going to be very quickly moving to wait list, so if cool hasn't given me that updated involved, certainly get it out there. And, uh, make sure it's going to happen. Yeah, yes, but it is usually in that new packet, so if it's not yet out, I'll double back. And our kindergarten registration is going great as well.
46:52
We're pretty much on track, we're over 20 already. Um, that tends to be slower than pre case, so that's a great sign as well. We don't even always hit that by March. Yeah, so that's cool, like cool information. Yeah, the same thing, the packet's very soon. I think when I feel off the query, it was in there. Okay. It's a lot, so also sometimes parents just don't see it, because there's a line paper, but I'll double check it. And then we have an orientation in May for pre-KN kindergarten, and then we typically, you know, have that information out for family on that, too. Yeah, and I think we only in that 60 had maybe five or six out of towns. Yeah, so I knew as I thought it's which I, which is awesome too. I mean, an incredible amount of in-town registrations. Um, so how many are returning? I think it's around 40. It's not exactly. It's a little less than that, because I think we're over 20 for screeners, but it's, so it's in the 30s. That's what I could get that exact number. At our town birth numbers, or the next four years, um, didn't go lower than 20, and they went up to about 28. So we have strong numbers. Yeah, we have over resident, yeah, and over residents of being coming preschoolers, strong for the next four or five years. Yeah, and then like the change in the cutoff, all the way back.
48:19
Different, you get some little bubbles. We have had some kinder waiver request, so nothing that we've been aware of, and I know there is, there's always legislation in about changing that and how that works, but until that changes, it will fall. The same process as we have at the boards aware of where they can submit for a waiver, they complete an assessment, and then the administrator makes a decision. About whether or not that's approved. So nothing is changed there. We'll follow that process. Usually that's in April, May. And you have gotten a couple of those? Mm-hmm. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. We, we haven't, we didn't. But that enrollment. So the new hand or children get added to the non-hand or who wants to get bumped out. Good question. So the non-residents know that they aren't, they aren't secured as far until May. So I give plenty of time first, almost. I haven't since I've been here. It's mostly out of towners that try to register in the summer. Almost always, all my handovers are registered by May. So even though out of town is in my 60, if I get 63 and they're in over, those out of towners know they don't get a definite for us until May. Also with 60, it gives us a little wiggle room. Certainly birth to three students or a move-in that doesn't have a choice. We certainly can put, that's 15 in a classroom. We certainly can put 16 in a classroom. So we really have to get an influx of like 10,
49:38
you know, in July and over students where I would be like, okay, now we're calling out of towners. I don't foresee that. We're pretty careful about the other great thing about being in a small town is family's no family. So I, you know, immediately could get a pretty good list of all the siblings, even if they're not enrolled. And I can get a pretty good, we have teachers. They're like, hey, I know that so he says brothers cousin, so they, you know, so we also keep an informalist even pre-registering and then Rosemary will follow up on families. We think exist
50:05
that haven't called just in case. We don't pressure them if they're not interested, but that helps us keep our endover kids first. But certainly, if you know anyone tell them, it was the time that would have come down that real estate in town. Yeah, pretty low now. Yeah, so yeah. So it's exciting. It's very exciting. I think that's all for me and any questions on money. Thanks all. Yes, absolutely. Terry, fine answer for it. Yeah. Hopefully you all had a chance to check over the financial reports as part of your packet. I don't really see anything unusual and I just want to open up
50:48
for questions if anybody has any. Yeah, good. I don't have any questions. Okay. Okay. Okay. And then just so everyone knows we have been in communication with the town treasure. There wasn't a agreement previously that they were going to send us a statement of our accounts for like on monthly basis. Um, Eric is on vacation this week. Uh, she something happens. So we did not get that. But hopefully I don't go forward. We will have it in the future. Yes. Thanks for following up on that. Thank you. And then so we already talked about slow readiness. Um, PTA. Yeah, we we have a lot coming up. It's so it's hard to believe that this is like we're sliding into a home play here with the last couple months of school. Um, we've got two things going on this month. The next Thursday, uh, urban air. If you go to urban air, you mentioned the PTA. We'll get a portion of those funds batch. We have trivia night next Friday. Um, April, April. We're doing a candle fundraiser with a 12 house candle. They're a local, uh, local company here to moms, uh, who's kids went through A. Yes. Um, and then we are planning the talent show. If you guys have not come to the talent show, I, it is so cute. It is such a good time. I'm going to say if you haven't been in it. I was like, yeah, or if you don't want to. I'm going to get it. I'm going to get it. I'm going to get
52:25
those. I'm going to get your talent. You can try out. But it is really, I buddy does a comedy act. So I have, I mean, he doesn't stand up. He brings the house down. Um, and then we are, um, going to be, uh, planning, um, the ribbon cutting for the new playground. We're going to do it, um, at the evening of the arts. Um, we figure everyone's here. Uh, we'll have a captive audience. So just don't work in the tailor to try to figure out the logistics on that. But, um, yeah, it's, um, it's busy. But all good things. So we've had a lot of great support this year. So we thank everybody. Um, but yeah, we had a record high meeting. I think we had 16 people. I don't know. So thank you so much, Taylor. That was 16 people. Are they doing right? It was good. We're going to be on that team. We have a couple, a couple new women, you know, come online.
53:18
So, um, yeah, we put a post on Facebook just talking about what the PTA do's do and how it, um, helps, you know, fun grants for the teachers, which, um, I got a lot of good feedback on that. So, um, yeah, it's good. It's been really good. So, um, yeah, and I would add if there are board members who would like to participate in the talent show, please. We would more than that. Or just come to the talent show. It's March 12th, March, May 20th, 29th. No, no, it's May 29th. Um, so the evening of the arts is going to be the 20 second. And then the, um, the talent show is the 29th. Um, and it is. We have it in the gym. It's usually it's usually look at when Rams concerts and stuff were. I think we, to the talent show. I did. We might. I, because I don't think I happened in my part. Okay. I think we did talk about that, but we didn't, we were very limited on date. We were abilities this year. Even there. It's we, you know, we play with Rams, but I don't, I mean, I don't look. I have that calendar. Yeah, but anything's popped up. I can't look at it. Okay. Yeah. I think we based on based it off of what we kind of did last year on the day and just get it was after Memorial Day and the evening of the arts and then obviously, who can we get to help? Um, but we do it in the gym last year's theme was
54:42
um, Arizona's theme. Um, I'm like going to tell you. Yeah. Really. Um, it, it, it really is a really great time and it showcases some really great talent of our kids. So I really encourage even if your kids not in it come, it's fun. Um, and to the board members, please, please come to really great time. So that's all I have to the pizza. Thanks. Um, and then town meetings, we've had fun not replay. So um, here's the, the town solar meeting is tomorrow night at seven. Um, the other thing that I didn't say already is our next month's meeting for the board of Ed, they actually made a town meeting on that night. So we're going to need to not have our board of Ed meeting because it's really important that all of us are at that town meeting instead. Um, that's the budget meeting to pass on this. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Um, I'm not that's the meeting where we vote to send them.
55:36
Yes. Yes. Okay. So we will not have a meeting next month. So we're in loop and we'll be at that. And we'll be at one. Okay. Um, in terms of rescheduling our regular board meeting for next month, the Wednesday before, um, is also a town meeting isn't that their last budget that's like their budget meeting to review everything over the last questions. So I also feel like it shouldn't be at the same time as that. I agree. And then then we come up there is a group. Okay. Right. So, well, and remember, you're right. You wanted to have a road at the beginning of the year. If you cancel a regular meeting, any other makeup meeting is a special meeting, anyway. So should do you know what I mean? So you can't reschedule a regular meeting to a different night. It's not called a regular meeting. But so, you know, we talked about it. If after April 9th, you find a reason that you must have a meeting. You'd be calling a special meeting and having a special meeting right. So, and then you could do that in today's ahead of time. Okay. If need be. So after the night before your main meeting, just keep it up. Right. And guys need one, then you would just schedule one. And it is a long month. Like there's five Wednesdays. There's five Wednesdays in the month of April. So, our next regular meeting after that would be May 14th. So, I mean, can we need to make a motion? Cancel. Does it need to be, or just, yeah, I got an ask to have a melody, we probably do, but we probably need to be. And what other
57:14
actions? I know you don't need to. We don't think of the calendar on the town side. They can't cancel all the times for anything. Okay. It's just that you need to give proper notice. Okay. Okay. We can't just cancel it the day off. That's the caveat. Not that you need to vote on it. Cancel it. It's just, because remember, if you don't have a forum, you would have to cancel a meeting. Anyway, do you follow me? So, yeah. So, we'll just cancel the meeting on April 9th and keep it open to if we have to call a special meeting. And you would have to say, later on that month. But I don't don't cancel it in your calendar, right? Just change it to stay counted. But it's needed.
57:50
Yeah. There's no chance. Don't just turn it down. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. Sorry. It's true. So, I think that's always happened in terms of, like, they don't report can't update. We're responsible for the county. I'm still doing that. I'm not still doing that. I listened to it. I was, and I'm sorry. I was into the special meeting. We're clearly not not going to go solar. So, that's the one I was saying. Yeah, I didn't actually assign them to anyone. So, because I'm over as chair. So, I think we, I mean, they aren't technically assigned. Okay. I feel like, and I guess I would say this is my opinion, but I feel like since, since we assigned them to people, I feel like all of us have been more engaged with what's going on on the other boards. So, I think we should continue to talk about updates from the other boards, but affect us on a monthly basis. But, um, I don't know. So, I need to, like, assign them. Thank you. Um, on that note, does anyone have anything that wasn't
58:53
update from a town meeting that affects the board of add in some other ways that we haven't already discussed with us. Or that's, yeah, or that's not on other agenda items. I don't, I don't have anything. So, we'll move on to the elevator contract. Um, which I think, what did you want to do cool? Oh, yeah. Thank you. Sorry. I wrote it on here. I forgot. Don't worry about it. I got you. I got you. Um, so to all. Yeah, I mean, do you want me to not want me? No, if you want to hear it, but, you know, it will be helpful. I'm sorry. I want to know. The end of a cool program is partnering up at the end of our recreation commission this year to host summer camp. We're asking the board of add permission to use AES for summer camp. We've talked to Taylor and request use of the gym, music room, cafeteria, and the new location of the cool room, as well as the playground. Our rental agreement has been $720 to cover toiletries and janitorial services. Camp will run from Monday, June 23rd through Friday, August 8th. Thanks, the cool board. And the new space is still up there or the dinner news day will be moving. Yeah, we moving into that room right there. They'll use these two spaces, but that will will be theirs. Um, because we need it. That's where why I was asking. Yes. Yeah, we need a motion to that effect. Oh, I think you didn't want to assume that we do. Yeah, dates, why is you guys are okay with the dates that they have requested. Yeah, and we wanted to
1:00:28
gather obviously in those details of what this, what areas of the facility that can be used in that cell one. Just cool quick question. So it's the time of solar bathroom. Yep. So we have they'll be aware. They're like I said their limitations in terms of, you know, as we know them of course, we don't know yet. I know which days and where, but a couple of years ago we've had we had some work. So they work around us pretty well. Obviously, if it was something where we could, and we had to not have a week we would, but right now it doesn't. So I made a motion to
1:01:03
allow the whole program to use the facilities outlined in their email or the summer dates of the last one. Okay, thank you, sir. Okay, all in favor. Hi, I'm upstating. Okay, so in front of you, you have one of the pages of, and that's why I didn't do it on the top of your one of the pages of what we're building as far as that capital improvement plan will. And so this is what you can see up here. So the three projects that obviously we've been doing since last year are the first three we're working on. So the first three pages. And then as we go along here, we are creating sections for each of the things that need to be done. Okay, so that's why it says like page two on the top, 20, 24, elevator. So what you're looking at is a page from the book that we're creating for that. Okay, so that makes for a fence for you. We talked last month. We had shared last month. The fact that we had had the three quotes from Colin from TK and from a line.
1:02:23
I explained to you the difference between the three of them. And the fact that Colin said we can't compete with TK, the soft modification. They were more interested in looking at either us beautifying them or facing the cabinet south or replacing the whole thing. So as you can see on here, they could come in with prices that in a bunch of items. With in terms of a line, our problem with a line was that a line came in for this project at 168040 from last month. I've given this to you guys. But they were not interested in replacing it right away. They wanted us to store that motherboard that circuit board. And they said in addition to that, they thought there was $59, $100 worth
1:03:13
of additional work that they thought should be done. Even though it wasn't in emergency, it was work they wanted done. And the reason why a line to then was that we're not in our best interest was because the third strong to their proposal was that their hourly rates were 355 and hour and 670 per whole return. So there was just no way that a line could come in with what TK could come in that. TK's our current provider or repair maintenance. I had provided last meeting. So we could kind of specs for the past three years. We went from in 22 and annual maintenance cost of $2400 to the next year is $2500 to the next year to $4700. So even the rates for the past three years with TK for our regular maintenance, especially very reasonable. So with that, I mentioned to these last time. I asked if you could give me permission then to move forward to ask them to send us a book. So that's what you're looking at here. So this is now the official updated as to what it would cost us. For the soft mod, the contract would be that 2689 to provide the new electronic control boards and components to extend the life of our equipment. And remember, we talked far into the future.
1:04:41
There are people that they do want to sell you and do what ours is fine. The body of it is fine. We only go to floors and we have repaired one of the smaller things over the years as necessary, so it's just this circuit board for us. And they agreed that they all they can't give you a time span when we said so ours was probably good for a decade, right? They were like, you don't see why not, but can't put that right. So the requests were made. We end what you're looking at on this next page. I just got this from them in real time and said, you know, what would it be? It's $22,690. And as you can see, they've taken the hacks off. So this had the second page of the tax on there. The initial amount they would ask is the half and the dual population would be the other half. This was one of the projects that we proposed
1:05:38
utilizing the capital money with the board of finance for. Although they haven't well voted on this $22,000, that would be something we have to send a letter over under the half after this meeting when you vote. The affirmative that would say, hey, here is our, we send them this. And we would say, this is what we are requesting that they vote to approve money coming out of that account for. Business was one of our three things that we wanted to take money out of that account for. Update of that if you weren't on the presentation the other day for the board of finance, where we presented the budget and the majority of the board, you know, they all listened graciously. And the majority of the board had all of their questions answered. They were optimistic. For all of those. Sure, it is tough to have a year where we have to add classes. They were able to see that with the information that we presented. They were able to agree the majority of them said, yeah, and I'm sure not pretty, but we understand moving forward. I did assure them, Kate and I had spoken about that beforehand just so, you know, we understood. We did assure them that progress kept from two years ago when we first started the conversation with them about, hey, actually, we give a conversation with Robert and then after two years ago, we're doing that conversation with Robert, remember, you brought the idea of us utilizing excess surplus over above our two percent for things like this. And now the bathroom and the
1:07:17
driveway, those three things. As you guys know, I'm just reiterating the timeline there. They, we had told them, like, this is what we really know to be a fact that all of those grants that were two-year grants should help us to yield this surplus. And we all know last year, it was a small one. And the driveway wasn't done with it, so that money was put in there. That's, you know, 113, 112, and that's the town, you know, graciously put it as their budget last year, 113, and so then we know that's two-twelf. So the audit is complete. Now that shows it, us in the town combined, our side's done. So it's now official until they finish
1:08:05
the town side and say, here you go. But in ours, the money that we didn't anticipate at the end of the two years is going to be there and there will be 350. And so, you know, we were able to tell them was in no rush in for 31. If it was so easy as to say, just let us keep the 350. We'd be good, but we know you can't do that. And so what we can tell you is the renovations that need to be done is the bathroom, the renovations that need to be done to the elevator. We know that we can do that with that money. And so they were, like, thank you so much. We really appreciate you giving this to us now.
1:08:44
Instead of waiting until after budget season to say, by the way, we have all this money. So I actually voted to remove the 100,000 from the town budget for the fund for this upcoming year. We said, you know, I asked for money that we know we are going to spend this year, like, because between the 350 that will have in there and the two 12 that's in there now, we know between now and the next this next fiscal year, we wouldn't spend it on. So we'll cross that bridge and we get to it from the 2627 budget as to what we need to complete capital bank. And so
1:09:18
there were very gracious. There was a great meeting, you know, and, you know, we'll be forward. I think that helps them understand that when we ask for money now for these things, we have a plan for the fact that that money is going to be put in there as soon as the official issued drive on the audit, then, you know, that truck would get sent over to the likely to last year. So so anyways, so what we're asking for then, if you look through here, we're asking for you to approve back contracts. And from there, then, obviously, we need it to go over in a letter asking for that meeting out of our tax. Well, the last page with looks that taxes included. Crash, because we have to just do the, the forms that they've done. Thank you. Yeah. So we're not, they're not expecting the 12 groups, I think 11. Okay.
1:10:13
Yes. I just wanted to know what we're going to put in a mountain on it. No, so that might add the front cover here. Yes, the total cost that I put out here is the boss minus the taxes. Yes, ma'am. And then just to refresh all of our memories, just correct me if I'm wrong. The, the sort of board that needs to be replaced, they're like not making any more, sort of a kind of imperative that we do that now instead of waiting until the elevator apparatus. Perfect. That sort of board assembly is discontinued. And so we went to be able to get that. And like we had said, we can say this, you know, almost the whole year down. And the issue isn't normally an emergency for a district, because we have stairs, but we do have someone that utilizes that. So for us, it's different. We can't just wait for it to break. We would have to do that repair sooner or later. Does anyone have any other questions about the contract? Exactly. I'd like to call for a motion. Yeah, I'll make a motion to approve the to go forward with the contract and quote, provided by TK elevator to provide a new electronic control board and components to extend the life of the current equipment. Can I add to your motion? That's what we would ask the board of finance that we take that money from our guests. Yes. Yes. Yes. All in favor. All in favor. Hi, I'm opposed. Thank you guys. Thank you for being on that too, Bob. I'm so happy I've written out this way as well. We're going to have a board of finance.
1:12:07
I will for them also include those boards from the other companies. Yes, you guys have seen them when we've discussed about our needs, but we haven't seen them. Yes. You know, ironically, I think the day or two days after our last meeting, I was on burnt halls in East Hampton and I was behind a band that said, Conan, I was like, I know what that is. Well, I'll I'll one up you. I was at Staff and Shapp today and I saw a TK elevator band. Oh, I'm sorry, K-Lid. On these things, never thought you're doing that. And yep, that was lovely. I'm following C-Word electric trucks all in there. Yeah, it's going to be a fun thing. Yeah, there's the parking lot. Yeah, you must be doing pretty well. Yeah, they're, yeah, I'm sure they did. They're a little place in, they've outgrown their place in the country, yeah. So moving on to the bathroom projects update and or report.
1:13:05
So they received their first check that 13,000 did come out of the account over there that we sent over, you know, requesting from the board of finance and then our first payment was made. They met with us on the known to go over the materials and to kind of talk about channels on that talk, to kind of talk about what would be best for those particular bathrooms. And we're not changing the, I mean, because it's a renovation. I mean, it's not, let's just start from scratch and rebuild. But what we're looking at is what suits our needs in terms of what would the finance look like, what would the appliances look like for a bathroom in elementary school and the floors, you know, little sorts of things. So we've got through that. They have sent over a basic diagram of what the actual floor space would look like. And now they're going to work on the next step, which is to offer us like options for what the actual materials would look like. So they can put that together in picture form for us. The only like physical difference. So once those bathrooms are done, if you're on some of the school we walk into them and you're like, wow, this is different for partner the appliances that are there. Of course, we can be that firmly in the new proposed plan that they're knocking up for us. I'm only seeing the draft. We have in the girls bathroom there when you first walk in the girls bathroom, your sinks are in front of you. And then to the right of you,
1:14:36
you have two stalls and a mock sink. And we just don't think that that belongs to the girls bathroom and, you know, they break. So alternatively, we are going to just extend the existing custodians closet so that that works for the mock sink and the faucets in there. Because what's in there right now is just think that's raised. And because the sink is raised, you're not going to be making it, you're not. And you're stuffed and dumping everything in there. So they need that floor. So yeah, so that's what they're knocking up for us now. And that will be ready with two weeks. And then, and that's something that I've quickly made and shared for you guys. And then also share with you whatever our next thing is that we'd be meeting with them to be over that. And then just be clear on that process because I have an actual questions from members of our town. Correct me if I'm wrong. Like, while they're doing the plans after we get to the end of that material and stuff that we'll go out to bid and companies will bid on whether or not they're actually
1:15:44
doing the work and they'll, they'll help us with that. And they help us with that process. Yes, out of their feet, we'll have them help us do that. Yes. Yes, thank you. Great. Does anyone have any questions on the bathroom project or a rear of that? No, sounds like it's moving a lot. And then I said that too. And then in terms of the solar project of the, um, the town meetings for our night, um, Ryan from these guys will be there. Val has put together, uh, kind of like a timeline of when we started looking at solar when being bus first started discussing it. And then when we first had it at a board of Ed meeting.
1:16:24
So, um, think the first time it was discussed at a board of Ed meeting where they gave a presentation was December 2022. So, just in terms of timeline of how long this has been going on. It's been for quite a while. Um, so plan would need tomorrow, um, that, uh, they will, you know, start a meeting, uh, choose a moderator. And then we will be allowed to have Ryan's presentation. Val can talk just kind of about the project in general. And then people from the town are allowed to ask questions, um, and then we'll vote after that. Okay. So, there is some material that they asked people stated, and if you look under, um, the agenda for the Board of Education online, uh, they say solar 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, and the materials are there because that meeting on Monday night, um, the Board of Select and meeting. Um, there are some people that, you know, haven't been part of this through the process. So, I think there's a little bit of misinformation. I do know that there is, you know, one member of the community, um, that said that it would not avoid our warranty, which is just not true, which it doesn't. It's absolutely not. Um, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, the, the executive group. Oh, okay. Which one can certainly address it?
1:17:40
I don't know. I've got it. Um, and so all that's posted on the AES, like on the Board of Education, it's also all posted on the town page, under, uh, where the solar meeting is. It's all as one giant packet. It's like 96 pages. I'm stuck. But, like, um, everything is and Ryan will be there. And you guys know, he's absolutely, you know, who's been able to answer that. Yeah, all the questions. So, I actually felt kind of bad. I know it's probably the most you've ever had to appear to something. It's a really sorry out there paying you extra buck. Uh, and these been great. It really is. So, I'm coming in. I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't. All right. Next up is comments from public on agenda items. Um, Amanda, below. I don't have any comments. Thank you. Thank you. Jenny, we're out. Nothing for me. Thank you. And her name. Thank you. Nothing for me, there. Nothing for me, there. Well, thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Um, uh, next up on our agenda. The next document session, um, to talk about midterm review, uh, forward and super-canning pools for this year. I make a motion that we go into executive session at eight 19 for the purpose of midterm review of board and super-canning goals. Right. And then we went and we made a second and out and I was going to say, do you want to do the way and bite into the meeting who wants to. All seconds. Should we do that first?
1:19:26
Yeah. Yeah. I just want to see if we need to do a men-the-motion. Do you need to be there? Are things going to be there? Like that, okay. We're inviting that. Okay. I'll take some cold meds. Maybe. Yeah. All right. All in a third. Okay. And then check the. It's recording. It's recording. I think. Yeah. Okay. Thank you. We're waiting. We're waiting. We're waiting. We're waiting. Yeah. Just look at the participants. They're all doing that. Yep. They're all doing it. Oh, my gosh. They waited for you. So what do I do? I admit. Oh, yeah. Okay. Okay. Um, so we are back out of executive session. It's 909 right now. Um, and then I don't think that we have any other action items for tonight. Um, so in terms of upcoming meetings, so the regular board meeting that's scheduled for April 9th, just a reminder that is a town meeting. So it'll be in the gym. Um, instead of here in this room. Um, and in terms of items for our next meeting. Um, probably updates on all the stuff that we have on the right now. Um, and we'll see where the budget gets us to. Right. Bless. I will make a motion to adjourn. Thank you. Oh, sir. I want to let you do that. I don't recognize. All right. Good. Thank you. Thank you.
